How Long Until I Get Matched?
We go through the database twice a month to look for matches, usually around the 15th and the 30th. If you haven’t heard from us, it means we haven’t found the right match for you yet. Drop us a line if you’re up against a deadline and we’ll see what we can do.
My Match Didn’t Work Out. What Now?
Hey, it happens — all the time. Sometimes it’s a personality thing, but most often your work style or topics just aren’t the right match. Or maybe you or your CP are switching genres. Or maybe your CP dropped out of the writing game to walk the Appian Way. Fair enough, and whatever the reason, just fill out the form again and we’ll re-match you. I Need a Sensitivity Reader. Can I get one here?
We want to ensure your critique partnership is sensitive and that you have a good experience together, so we include a place to note trigger warnings on the form. A sensitivity reader is a much different thing that we’re, frankly, not experts at facilitating and it would be unfair to you and your readers if we tried.
I Want Someone of the Same Faith/Culture/Background as Me
Our goal is to match writers based on their work interests and experience: we do not ask for any personal information outside of that focus. This should go without saying, but we’ll say it anyhow: if you’re bigoted, we’re not here to help you stay that way. All submissions that request to avoid particular groups, ethnicities, or orientations will be deleted. We’re pretty sure you know what we’re talking about, but just in case…
